Sustainable Agriculture Research & Education (SARE) Grants
Join Dr. Katja Koehler-Cole, the Soil Health Management Extension Educator at the Eastern Nebraska Research, Extension and Education Center to learn about Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE) Grants. The presentation will also feature Michelle Brannen, owner and operator of Benson Bounty LLC, a two-time grant award winning recipient. Benson Bounty is a 1.5 acre sustainable farm in the middle of Omaha, Nebraska. Michelle Brannen will discuss the grants the small family business received and share the results they have seen thus far.
Funded by the USDA, the national Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE) program supports and promotes sustainable farming and ranching. They offer competitive grants and educational opportunities for producers, scientists, educators, institutions, organizations and others exploring sustainable agriculture.
