Volunteer at a Rain Garden!
Whether you're looking to fulfill required volunteer hours or simply enjoy more time outdoors, join Conservation Nebraska for our July volunteer event at Creighton Preparatory School’s rain garden, located on Western Avenue just west of 72nd Street. Rain gardens are a beautiful and cost-effective way to manage outdoor spaces that experience high levels of soil saturation or water pooling. They help reduce runoff, filter out pollutants, and provide food and shelter for wildlife.
Volunteer tasks will consist of pulling smaller weeds by hand, digging out larger weeds, and other general garden maintenance tasks. While we will have a limited supply of gloves and garden tools available, we encourage you to bring your own gloves or favorite trowel if you prefer. Water and light snacks will be provided.
In the event of inclement weather, this event will be canceled.
