Edible Plant Walk on UNL's East Campus

Join Conservation Nebraska for a guided tour of the gardens on UNL's East Campus with a focus on edible plants and trees. This is a great opportunity to learn about integrating edible and native trees, shrubs and herbaceous plants into the landscape in a beautiful and functional way, and how to care for them. Some of the plants you will learn about are: Pecan, Hazelnut, Aronia, Pawpaw, Hickories, Persimmon, and other interesting edibles!

Brad Kindler, Sustainable Landscape Specialist with PlantNebraska and the Nebraska Forest Service, is our guide and a wealth of practical information about working with plants.

Brad Kinder is a Sustainable Landscape Specialist with the Nebraska Forest Service and PlantNebraska. He holds master’s degrees in both Landscape Architecture and Horticulture, a combination of disciplines that helps him to integrate biology, design, and planning process when working with communities across Nebraska.
