Join Conservation Nebraska and the City of Kearney for a guided tour of Yanney Park Gardens and discover what’s growing right here in your community!
Explore each themed garden while learning about the native plants, pollinator-friendly landscapes, and edible species that help support local ecosystems and provide benefits for people and wildlife alike. Along the way, you'll gain insight into how these gardens were designed, their role in the community, and simple ideas you can bring home to your own landscape.

Please park in the North parking lot near the gardens. We will meet at the start of the gardens visible from this parking lot.
Kendra Larkin is the Horticulture Specialist and Arborist for the City of Kearney Parks and Recreation Department. She manages the gardens at Yanney Park, oversees greenhouse production, designs the annual garden and landscape projects, and coordinates the city's edible garden program. As a certified arborist, she assists the public with forestry questions and conducts inspections of right-of-way tree plantings and removals. Kendra also grows trees from seed for future park plantings using the RootMaker system and leads a crew of ten employees, along with a dedicated group of weekly volunteers. Her work combines horticulture, arboriculture, greenhouse management, landscape design, and public engagement to enhance Kearney's parks and green spaces.
