Bios:
Brice Krohn is the President and CEO at the Crane Trust. He has extensive field experience and training in management of prescribed fires and wildfire burns, Brice enjoys restoring and preserving functioning prairie landscapes so his children and others can experience the beauty and importance of Mother Nature.
David Carr is the Range Management Specialist for the Central Platte Natural Resources District, a position he has had for 22 years. David is originally from Thedford Nebraska where he graduated from Thedford High School, later achieving a Bachelor of Science in Education degree with a Field Endorsement in Natural Science from Chadron State College. He began his career in wildland firefighting with the United States Fish and Wildlife Service as a firefighter type 2, eventually becoming NWCG qualified as I.C. Type 4, Single Resource Boss, and Prescribed Fire Burn Boss Type 2. In 2004 he accepted the CPNRD fire position to create the first NRD prescribed burn program. Since then the NRD has completed around 200 fires, and worked with partners to attain additional fire equipment and training. In 2021 the fire program lead was transitioned to a new employee at the District, Bill Hiatt.
Cody Wagner is the Conservation Program Manager at Rowe Sanctuary and conducts habitat management activities, biological monitoring, river management, and conservation planning efforts to ensure the sanctuary supports the wildlife that depend on it. He also spends time working with conservation partners and local landowners to improve habitat within the greater Platte River Valley and keep Rowe part of the local community. He grew up in rural central Nebraska near Chapman, spending much of his time as a young boy trapsing through the grasslands and woodlands of the Platte River Valley. Cody earned a B.S. in Biology and Environmental Studies from Wayne State College in northeast Nebraska with a special focus on prairie plants and GIS. He has previous experience from the Lower Elkhorn Natural Resource District, the US Fish and Wildlife Service refuge system, and the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission.
Nic Fryda, Wildlife District Manager for the South-Central District at the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, has worked for the Commission's Management Section for almost 20 years. His responsibilities include managing Wildlife Management Areas to create better habitat for wildlife on public lands using many tools including prescribed fire. Also responsible for conducting wildlife surveys, setting seasons and bag limits of game species, and working with wildlife nuisance, depredation, and disease issues.
