The Butterflies of Nebraska ID Walk with Stephen M. Spomer

Tag along with Stephen M. Spomer and Conservation Nebraska for a Butterfly ID Walk at Platte River State Park on June 20th from 3-5pm!

Find our feather flag and meet at the trailhead on 358th St. Go past the main entrance to 358th and turn east. There is a dead end street and East Mountain Biking Parking Lot where you can park. We will be hiking the "Wild Turkey" Trail.

Nebraska State Park permits are required and are available at the entrance kiosk or administration building as you enter the main park entrance or purchase in advance online at outdoornebraska.gov.

Stephen Spomer received his Bachelor’s degree in Entomology and Zoology and Master’s degree in Entomology from the University of Nebraska. Author of "The Butterflies of Nebraska" (2026), Spomer, will lead a guided walk through Platte River State Park to identify butterflies, fritillaries, and other insects along the way!
