Join Conservation Nebraska and the founders of Hawley Hamlet for an educational tour of their extensive neighborhood garden!

The Hawley-Hamlet Neighborhood Garden is a garden in a single square residential block only a mile from Lincoln, Nebraska's downtown. Residents have transformed four-fifths of an acre from grass lawns to edible crops and native plants, and in doing so, are growing community as well as food. The Hawley Hamlet neighborhood Garden has been named a Landscape Steward Affiliate of PlantNebraska.

Kay Walter and Tim Rinne are among the founders of the Hawley-Hamlet Neighborhood Garden, an urban garden in Lincoln, Nebraska. They are recipients of several awards, including The Dorothy Richardson Award for Resident Leadership from Neighborworks America, the Nebraska Farmers Union President's award and a Merit Award from the Nebraska Chapter of the Soil & Water Conservation Society.

Space is limited and registration is required. Visit https://secure.ngpvan.com/DWvygVd6j0mtb4lgcSrbOg2

We will meet at the corner of 605 N 26th St to begin the tour. We recommend bringing a water bottle and comfortable shoes. Light refreshments will be provided. During the tour, please be mindful of where you step to avoid stepping on the garden beds and to prevent soil compaction.
