Winter Bird Watching and Community Science
Grab your binoculars and get ready to explore the wonders of winter bird watching!
Join Conservation Nebraska, Spring Creek Prairie Audubon, and Pioneers Park for a free, fun, and educational event with Jason "the Birdnerd" St. Sauver and Jamie Kelley.
This event will dive into reasons to go winter bird watching, bird ID for species you might see this time of year, and information on community science projects. Our presenters will introduce you to a few community science projects including the Great Backyard Bird Count, where you can help track bird populations in your own backyard! This is a perfect chance to learn from experts, engage with nature, and contribute to bird research and conservation.
Please note that this is an in-person event and we will have an outdoor portion, weather permitting, after the presentation for winter birding.
