This presentation will demonstrate that conservation is not solely an environmental practice, but rather a critical component of safeguarding communities from the adverse effects of climate change. Furthermore, the presentation will emphasize the importance of community-led preparedness plans that incorporate environmental stewardship.

Dr. Junghwa Choi is an assistant professor of Emergency Management and Disaster Science at the University of Nebraska Omaha. She specializes in public support and behaviors related to
climate change and disaster policies. Driven by a commitment to community resilience, she works to empower individuals to prepare for weather-related disasters.
