 the speaker: Dr. Burk earned his B.A. in Biology from the University of Ka
 nsas in 1974 and later studied at New College\, University of Oxford. Afte
 r a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Florida\, he joined Creig
 hton University’s Biology Department in 1982 and became a professor in 199
 6. His research focuses on behavioral and conservation biology\, especiall
 y in insects. He has authored 30 papers and book chapters and co‑authored 
 Biology of Animal Behavior. He is also deeply involved in citizen science 
 initiatives that engage the public in conservation research.
