 t geology at UNL from 1981 to 2018. He majored in biology at Duke Universi
 ty from 1967 to 1971\, but fell in love with geology during his three year
 s of work with the National Park Service at Canyonlands National Park in s
 outheast Utah. He earned a second B.S. in geology at Utah State University
 \, and completed his Ph.D. at the University of Wyoming. He and his wife l
 ive in Lincoln (she works at Morrill Hall). Their two sons now live in Fla
 gstaff\, AZ and Blacksburg\, VA.
